A beautifully illustrated children’s book helping siblings cope with the loss of a brother. Faith-filled story with practical guidance for families.
Ages 4–7 • 47 pages • Paperback
What Cloud Is My Brother In? is a compassionate, hope- and faith-centered children’s book created to help siblings navigate the loss of a brother. Because the death of a child marks the beginning of a lifelong grief journey for the entire family, this story gently walks alongside grieving brothers and sisters as they process confusion, sadness, and love that continues.
While tears may come easily, words often do not. Through this meaningful story, children and the adults who love them are invited into a two-day grief camp experience designed specifically for grieving siblings.
At camp, three young turtles meet. Each has lost a brother:
-
Snappy’s teenage brother, Scooter
-
Speedy’s newborn brother, Bowser
-
Shelly’s young brother, Scotty
Through shared camp activities and honest conversations, the turtles form deep friendships. Along the way, they discover that remembering may bring sadness, yet it can also bring laughter and joy. Speedy learns that even though he didn’t have time to create memories with his baby brother, he can imagine what life might have been like — holding him close in his heart and mind.
As camp ends, the three friends realize they will always carry their brothers with them — in their hearts and in their memories.
In addition to its touching narrative, this book includes practical recommendations for siblings and caregivers, such as:
-
Honoring and remembering their brother
-
Creating tangible keepsakes
-
Sharing openly about grief
-
Healing together through sacred storytelling
This beautifully illustrated book offers comfort, validation, and hope for families walking through sibling loss.
